My landscape paintings are not about realistic forms but rather the essence of what I see--the colors, shapes and atmosphere that I internalize. These become my own and align me with the natural world. They reflect nature's timeless cycle, the ephemeral sense of life, and the question of what else might be. As Agnes Martin said, "Look at the sky. At first you see blue, then you see beauty and then you see infinity." |
