Joanne Dugan
|
Joanne Dugan, a native of Delaware, is a photographer living and working in New York City. She received a BA degree from the University of Delaware. Her photography draws from a range of influences, including the photographers Andre Kertesz, Jacques-Henri Lartique, Eugene Atget, Duane Michaels and Bill Brandt. She is further influenced by filmmakers Jean-Luc Godard and Aikra Kurosawa and writers Ranier Maria Rilke and Henry Miller; and finally, she is inspired on a daily basis by the street rhythms and architecture of New York City and the serenity of places like Cape Cod, where she has spent time shooting the bucolic scenery so familiar to visitors here. Although new to exhibiting in Provincetown, Joanne has summered here numerous times. [more]
