Mark Heitzman |
Mark Heitzman, untitled, graphite drawing Dr. Heitzman has been drawing for eight years. He began when his neice gave him a set of pencils for Christmas. Prior to that, he had taken a course at the University of Vermont, learning to make art objects by welding. He has definitively put welding aside to concentrate on drawing. "I'm interested in found objects. I locate them in the corners of sheds, deserted industrail sites and junk shops. The more obscure their original purpose, the better" Explained Heitzman. I consider these objects to be ready made art. He has exhibited his drawings at various galleries throughout the Northeast, including galleries in Boston and New York City. He was recently exhibited in the first annual juried art show, "Wide Open" held by the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition in the Redhook section of Brooklyn.
