Art Classes and Workshops in Provincetown and on the Cape

Art is Good - Art classes and workshops

Cape Cod Museum of Art

Cape Cod Museum of Art
Art classes for adults and kids year-round. Also, the CCMA is the only one of its kind on Cape Cod for art educators to network with other art teachers, meet professional artists, learn about new teaching materials and techniques, and acquire Professional Development Points. The Cape Cod & Islands Art Educators Association meets the third Thursday of each month during the school year at Cape Cod Museum of Art. The programs run from 4 pm to 6 pm. Each year's schedule includes special workshops tied in with current CCMA exhibitions, "Best Practices," and other presentations organized by the Art Educators' Advisory Council.

Fine Arts Work Center (FAWC)
MassArt’s low-residency MFA Program at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown (MFAWC) provides a unique opportunity for a select group of artists seeking the optimum low-residency program. This program’s emphasis is on studio production, on structuring interactions and environments where artists can create their work and receive critical feedback.

While in Provincetown, students meet with and engage leading artists and art world professionals. MFAWC’s location in Provincetown at the tip of Cape Cod is one that has inspired artists for generations, and the Work Center’s studios and facilities have housed artists for over eighty years. Clearly a central part of this program’s attraction is the close proximity of the Work Center to a remarkable landscape and this program’s remove from the distractions of everyday life.

Summer Workshops program offers many classes for novices and professionals.

The Fine Arts Work Center also offers a unique residency program for writers and visual artists in the crucial early stages of their careers. The Work Center provides seven-month fellowships to twenty fellows each year in the form of living/work space and a modest monthly stipend. Residencies run from October 1 through May 1. Fellows have the opportunity to pursue their work independently in a diverse and supportive community.
