Jill Heim Epstein

Jill Epstein

Jill grew up in South Bend, Indiana. She now spends her time between Truro and Key West painting in her studio and plein air painting as well. After raising a family, she studied with renowned artists, Ethel Edwards, Cynthia Packard, Anne Packard, Joyce Johnson, Bud Hopkins, and Rob Dutoit. She exhibits her work at River Studio Art, Truro Center Ma., Lucky Street Gallery, Key West, Castle Hill and Provincetown Art Association and Museum. Jill has studied painting and drawing for the past 30 years and continues to work and study, continually exploring new media and new genres of art including encaustic painting and fresco painting.

Jill attended Mass College of Art where she studied portraiture and sculpture. She was founder of Pepperweed Boutique where she designed womenís wear and showed her designs at Harvard University.

Over the years Jill has been greatly influenced by Provincetown painters and continues to expand her work to abstract art as well as printmaking. She is presently a member of the Printmaking Cooperative at Castle Hill where she prints monotypes and exhibits in their annual show.

Many modern masters have influenced Epstein's work: Richard Diebenkorn, Milton Avery, Willem De Kooning. Han Hofman, Philip Guston, Milton Resnick to name a few.
