My identity has been cast by various forms
of creative expression. As long as I am surrounded
with art or those who are creative, I am happy.
I have learned to respect creativity as one
of the most important aspects of my personality.
Without the opportunity for such expression,
balance and harmony are quickly lost. I don't
believe creativity should be controlled but
definitely directed and guided. After years
of exploring artistic mediums, I found my richest
experience exists in oil painting.
The focus of my current work is to capture a
subtle mood or human expression we may see around
us everyday - but are not mindful of. I hope
to suggest familiarity and recognition, while
allowing a viewer to witness an individual and
uniquely pensive moment. I am greatly influenced
by emotional imagery, color saturation, and
how various moods are achieved through the manipulation
and interaction of light and color.
